All of this shows that we will end with apocalyptic cutting of benefits for the participants (who got used to high pay already and/or are disabled) with quite weak popular resistance.

Have you seen the public reaction to the law in which the government is pushing doctors to work for their education instead of increasing salaries? One of the reason why I really dislike "Soviet nostalgia" because people can't conceptualize why things were good or bad and it ends with consistently justifying awful things by just mood affiliation. This part especially, the younger generation already hallucinates the idea that the Soviet Union had industrial serfdom but it was good (shows the general depravity of social mood when people end with an idea that inability to choose a job on your own volition is good, I guess).
